I was out for a walk and it was close to midnight. I was pretty close to the ice-cream shop, so I thought I’d stop to get a Sunday. On my way, I passed a wide, short brick building. On it I saw a shadow that I thought looked somewhat like a wolf, but before I could get a good glimpse of it, it was gone. Thinking it was nothing; I kept walking, but stopped. I don't know exactly why I stopped, I just felt weird, I guess. I started walking, but it wasn't long before I stopped again. This time I knew why I stopped. In front of me stood a large pitch-black wolf, not 15 feet away. Then suddenly, I saw it lunge for me, but it seemed to stop in midair! I was to afraid to scream or run, because what I saw was really scary. In the wolf's mouth, i saw black, not white, but black teeth. It looked like they had poison on them. Or at least I thought it was poison. i finally got so scared that my legs sort of moved themselves. I bolted. I looked over my shoulder just to see the wolf running after me. Just the sight of it made me run faster. Around the corner and i would be at the ice cream shope. there wasn't anyone there at night exept for me and the ownwer. the owner always knew it was me because we were great friends. Then as I rounded the corner, I saw the ice-cream shop. As i jumped through the door, I felt a wave of pain sweep through my body. the wolf's razor-sharp teeth plunged into the bare skin of my heel. I screamed in pain as I shut the door and locked it. After I was running so fast my bangs were hanging pretty low in my face, so I raised my hand to push them away. as I did it, I gasped. I saw that my pinky was disappearing, and my nails were rounding to a sharp point. i saw thick brown fur growing on my arms and legs at an alarming rate. All of the sudden, my legs felt wierd, and as soon as i knew it, i was standing, a light brown wolf, inside the icecream shope at midnight, with the dark wolf outsige waiting for me. I had to make a run for it. I'd sneek out the back door and run to the woods. The wolf would definetly lose me there. I ran as fast as I could exept alot faster than usual remembering that I was a wolf. I went out the back door, but when the wolf saw me, he started to slowly walk the other direction! I didn't care though. I made it to the woods with no other wolf in sight. My heart was racing as I ran into the woods. 'I think I lost it..' I thought, sitting down to rest. I let out a sigh, but instead it came out as a howl. 'Geez, this sucks and I don't even know how the heck this happened anyway.'Then i heard some thing. [i]oh no! i thought. it might be the wolf![i]i heard it coming closer and closer. I could hear and smell really good now and just by the sound of the footsteps i knew it wasn't the wolf. As i hid behind a tree , i saw an old woman who seemed she was blind. I was suprised because she called me! I wasn't sure if she was safe or not but i felt the urge to come. The urge was so powerful i couldn't hold back. i figured since i was part k9 now it was a dog thing. I started walking twards her." You got yourself caught in a wolf problem don't yer?" she said in her wrinkled worn out voice. I tried to say some thing, but it came out as a bark." ill give ya little somthin' fer that there problem of yours. that black wolf of mine ain't what he used to be." she said and handed me a neclace."put it on, and you can be human and wolf whenever you want, but it don't come off." how could she know i was a wolf and human? she was blind! i put the neclace on my nose any way and worked it down to my neck. when it was to my neck, i felt my legs get higher and i was human again!" um... are you some kind of voo-doo woman or somethin'?" i asked "that my friend is classified ta ya." and with that she was gone. i started walking home and bursted into a run making sure that wolf wouldn't find me, but i made it home with only the neighbors beagle, Arby, barking at me.

I ran insid my house and every one else was in bed either reading or sleeping exept for my 14 year older brother (2 years older than me) named micheal. "Hey Julie, how was that sunday?" he asked getting up from the chair and walking over to me. "it was delicious, but i'm pretty tired. I think i'll go to bed." i said walking away pretty fast with a fake yawn following me. "wait a minuete, where'd you get the new bling?" he asked suspisioulsly looking at my necklace. "uhhh the ice-cream shop owner bought it for me...." i said trailing off "anways, good night." i said running up the stairs, into my room and shutting my door behind me. "that was close." i sighed quietly and it still came out as a howl! i cover my mouth quickly with me hand. "what the heck..." i said sitting on my bed. "how do i work this thing anyways?" i said looking at my nacklace. i tried to take it off but it seemed as if it were locked in place, like it was atached to my skin. i tried thinking like a wolf, but that did absolutly nothing at all. then i whispered "uhhh be a wolf..." i guess it was the only thing i could think of but to my suprise, it worked!

again, my skin felt like pins and needle as i looked at them and saw light brown fur growing quickly, my legs felt funny as did my arms. it looked like i was growing a snout with a shiny black nose at the end. "woahhhhhhhh!" i said and it came out as a very loud bark. oh crap! we don't even have a dog! what are they going to think that was?! i thought trying not to bark again, and i heard my parents and sister get out of bed and open their doors. "is julie home yet?" i heard them ask micheal and he replied,"yeah, she just got home she's in her room somewhere". i heard their footsteps coming up the steps and down the hallway. "Julie, sweetie? are you in there?" i heard my mom say from out of the hallway. think fast! i though and saw my window open. there was a tall tree directly outside my window and i went for it. i took a running start and i ran out the window and crashed into the tree trunk, tumbling to the ground. "owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" and of course, this time it came out as a clear, full howl. be human! i thought. nothing happend. BE HUMAN i though and nothing happend then either! i looked towards the mountains and the woods that our town settled on. I ran as fast as i could towars the woods, leaving my tracks behind me.

i ran and ran untill i got to the middle of the forest and i could overlook the city i was so high up. i heard something creap up behind me and i saw onother wolf! i growled and backed up acting like i wasn't scared. "it's okay, it's not like i'm going to hurt you." i could hear his mind! i thought that saying something would come out a bark but i said "uhhh sorry" i came out as an my voice exept really echoey.
