"Sure, I guess, though you're not a problem at all," I said to James. Turning to the girl that asked the question, I said, "I'm Alex, he's James. And you are?"

"I see." I said. "Well, Addie, any other questions?"

"and my name's Hope. Hope Everseen." My wavy brown hiar was blown back by the wind just to reveal my bright, purple eyes.

I looked back at Addie. "i was wondering the same thing." i say and i look at Alex. Then i look at James who i really didnt even bother to glimpse at yet, just to find him looking at me too.

I then looked at Hope. "So.. what's your story?"

"well, i was walking in the woods, and i found a celler. It was really, really old, and im really really curious. So, i went into it. Then i saw a really bright light, like, flouresent but not quite. I reached out to toutch it and i felt a pain in my stomach, then I screamed and ended up here..." i say spreading my arms out.

Now that i thought of it, i did scream pretty loudley. "ummm.. i guess so!" i say "im really sorry i got you into this mess..."

"Well, I guess it's time for my story then.." I said. "So, one day I was walking on the sidewalk to my school, early one morning. I heard a noise coming out of the forest. As I got closer, I saw a really bright light, then I blacked out and woke up here. That was two years ago, of course."

"Eh, it's alright. At least I'm still alive." My voice got kind of silent after that last sentence and my gaze was focused on the ground.

"Nothing really. Gather food. Fight monsters. Look for other people.."

i cant help but chuckle a little bit after james' comment. "so, monsters?"

When he said 'or try to kill people', it really hit home for me. "What would you ever know about people dying here?! You will never have seen what I've seen! You do not understand what it's like to watch your best friend die! To watch before your very eyes as he dies!" Tears were rolling down my cheeks by now. I sniffled a little bit and ran into my own room in the house, closing and locking the makeshift door behind me.

The door muffled that last comment, so I didn't hear it. I wiped away my tears with my hands and sat on the floor beside the window. I just sat there and stared outside for a while, with lots of emotions running through my head.
