Why We Live

You are playing sports when all of a sudden, you start coughing insanely! You start to feel really faint and your friends run over to help you. They call your dad and he hurries over and drives you to the hospital. When you wake up, you see your parents in the hallway talking to a doctor and crying? You wonder whats going on. Your father sees you awake and runs in.. "Son..." He trailed off. "What's going on?" The doctor walks in and says.. "Sir, if you don't mind me saying, you have... how do I put this?... well... cancer." You look at him and then at your dad holding your crying mother. "What?" You squeak. "I'll leave you alone with your parents..." The doctor leaves you to cry with your parents...

I had been in that hospital for a week. I was in the my hospital room, since I now have cancer, when they brought in this really cute girl that looked about my age. "Julian, meet your new roomate." The nurse said. 'Roomate? Yesss!' I thought. She sat down on the bed next to me and I said, "So, I guess we're roomies, huh?" I was grinning from ear to ear...

i was jogging outside a couple blocks away from my house and the last thing that i remember was myself coughing up blood and my neighbor calling the ambulance. I woke up in a room of coughing and vomiting, and i saw my parents outside crying talking to the doctor. "Well, let's just get you to a different room..." said the doctor, wheeling me out of the room and into a different room, followed my my sobbing parents. "WHat's going on???" i asked and my dad walked up to the side of the bed. "you have lucemia." he said and walked out into the hallway and shut the glass door. i heard someone talk to me and i looked over at the person on the bed next to me. "uhh... yeah i guess so," i said smiling a little bit.

I heard her start to mumble something.. like a prayer.. but I just layed there.. and soon I fell asleep and had very good dreams. Suddenly things went from very bad to really good!...

I heard the nuurse out in the hall say the visting time is over now and some people laft the hall way and entered and elevator. The nurse came in and said, "okay, you guys get some rest now." than she slowly and quietly closed the door. "so what do you have?" i whispered with my haed still on the pillow, not sure if he was asleep or not.

I woke up the next morning and she was asleep. The nurse came in and gave me my breakfast, and asked if she was awake. I said I didn't know but when I looked over after the nurse left, I swear her body was shaking like she was crying. "Are you okay? You know... it's not that bad..." She didn't reply so I just assumed she was asleep. "You're gonna be okay..."

I just stared at her in awe... I remembered something my grandmother had told me.. "Live life to the fullest.. or stay put and regret everything..." I said to her quietly... then louder, "What's your biggest regret in life?" I had a feeling I could help her...

Appearance: Mia has short, wavy, light brown hair that only goes down to her shoulders. She is in the standard hospital uniform, with black leggings underneath. Mia is a petite person, but athletic non the less. She has bright green eyes, and used to always smile, until she got diagnosed with cancer.
Life style: She used to play volleyball, until she was diagnosed with blood cancer.

You don't deserve eyes, if the only thing you see is you.

She had bright green eyes and looked like the kind of person that loves to smile, and has a really pretty one, too. I said hi, but she looked lost in thought... "Hi!" I said a liittle louder and she snapped out of it...

I wached him leave the room and i proped up on my elbows. I asked the nurse if i could go out side and she helped me out of bed and led me to the front door. "thank you." i said, opend the door, and walked out to the park, where i saw my roomate. "hey!" i said walking towards him.

I turned around when I heard someone call out. I saw my new roomate and said hi. I turned back around and asked for the other girl's name... she looked at me and said it was Mia, then walked away. So, I turned back around to my roomate.. "By the way, I never caught your name..?"

We must have been out there for hours, because when I looked at my watch, it was already almost two-o'clock and we came out at maybe eleven-o'clock. I was having to good of a time to go inside, so I didn't metion ant thing. Julian was really nice, and caring, and geltle, and funny...

We talked for a long time.. and I found out alot of things about her! She loved to play sports and was super outgoing, and creative! I wish we could've talked forever.. she looked at her watch and I asked her.. "What's wrong? Got somewhere to be?" I laughed and she smiled and we turned around and started to walk back.. but very slowly. I didn't want this moment to end...
